Small part ultrasound refers to high-resolution imaging of superficial structures such as the thyroid, parathyroid, scrotum, breast, salivary glands, lymph nodes, and soft tissue nodules. It is a non-invasive, real-time modality that allows detailed assessment of tissue architecture, size, shape, echogenicity, and vascularity using high-frequency linear transducers. Small part ultrasound is widely used to differentiate benign from suspicious lesions, detect cysts, solid masses, calcifications, or inflammatory changes, and guide interventional procedures such as fine-needle aspiration, core biopsy, or drainage. The technique is safe & radiation-free.
